Yorktown Battlefield park

The Yorktown Battlefield marks the end of the American Revolutionary War, though skirmishes continued for another couple of years.  This last great battle involved over 25,000 French army and naval forces, 21,000 British forces as well as 9,000 American soldiers.  British general Lord Charles Cornwallis established a naval base at the colonial tobacco port in the 7th year of the Revolutionary War.

Old Town National Park commemorates the early days of the town of San Diego and includes many historic buildings from the period 1820 to 1870. The park was established in 1968.[4] In 2005 and 2006, California State Parks listed Old Town San Diego as the most visited state park in California.

History is waiting for you with many historic points of interest. This state park has easy access from Interstate 5 and Interstate 8, close to the airport, and trolly station.
